Authorship, Contributions and Acknowledgments
TPHJ follows the authorship recommendations of the International Committee of Medical Journal Editors (ICMJE). Each person listed as an author should have made substantial contributions to the conception or design of the work, or to the acquisition, analysis or interpretation of data; should have been involved in drafting the manuscript or critically revising it for important intellectual content; must have given final approval of the version to be published; and must agree to be accountable for all aspects of the work. Individuals who do not meet all these criteria should not be listed as authors but may be acknowledged.
The order of authors should be jointly decided by all co-authors before submission. One author should be designated as the corresponding author and will be responsible for communication with the journal and for ensuring that all co-authors approve the submitted and accepted versions.
The manuscript should include an Author Contributions section, briefly describing the role of each author, indicating who conceived and designed the study, who collected data, who performed the analysis and who drafted or revised the manuscript. Contributors who do not qualify for authorship, such as statisticians, language editors, data collectors, administrative staff or advisors, can be recognised in an Acknowledgments section, with their permission.
